Arriving & Provisioning in Tortola
The places listed in this map’s legend are our mandatory and other suggested stops upon arriving in Tortola and before leaving the Waypoints base.
The Ferry Terminal cannot be avoided. Immigration and customs can be slow processes but have improved significantly in recent years. Our advice – grin and bear it. At Waypoints BVI, staff are courteous and efficient. We believe the Waypoints fleet is the best cared for and maintained in BVI. We could not be happier with the TLC given Tupelo Honey. The Nanny Cay Resort and Marina showers and restrooms behind Waypoints are available to all Waypoints guests and are some of the best we have experienced in the Caribbean. Between the showers and the Waypoints office is Island Roots cafe, a great coffee and sandwich shop. We provision our ground coffee here. After getting your luggage on board, head back down Dock C toward the office, turn right, cross the foot bridge and then turn left about 50 feet past the bridge. Follow the path to Peg Leg’s, the local beach club literally on the beach. We always shop for provisions ourselves rather than have them delivered. We get better results that way. There will be separate posts on The French Deli, TICO liquor store and RiteWay market to offer an idea of what to expect.
